Are you an Instagram addict?
Instagram is my favourite social media platform. I love the visual Instagram offers and Im not the only one with 1.6 billion likes and 40 million photo’s posted daily its becoming a hugely popular platform. I am sure I spend far too much time clicking away but I love the interaction Insta brings. I even have ‘Insta’ friendship groups, friends that have been made through years of chatting away on this awesome platform. We support each other. A great example of this is about a year ago one of the group of artists that I had friended was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. We all felt grief for her but were unsure just what we could do. None of us were geographically close. It was suggested that a collaboration of our artistic work would be a lovely gift and a small sign that we were there with her on this painful journey. We sent work from around Australia to one of the group in Mt Gambier, she created a collage of our work. It was an amazing moment when she received the package and posted a photo with the collage and a very emotional message to go with it. You know the saying ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’.
My account is almost solely art but occasionally I throw in a pic of something I love be it my family, wine or the odd dog. I run competitions through Instagram and keep you up to date with exhibitions and open days. So next time you are there come over and say Hello.
