Description
“Eucalyptus: Stillness in the Gums”
This work began as a quiet observation—those moments in the Australian bush where everything feels suspended. No wind, no movement, just the presence of the gums holding space. I wanted to translate that stillness, not as an absence, but as something alive and deeply structured.
The circular composition came naturally. It felt like the right way to contain that energy—to hold the sprawling, often chaotic growth of eucalyptus within a form that suggests balance and continuity. The centre became a point of stillness, almost like a breath held, with the leaves and branches extending outward in slow, deliberate rhythms.
